Vegath Tist is an Arcona that was outcast by his own family for some unknown reason, but his strong addiction to salt is highly suspected. He claims to be a geologist and has spent several years seeking his fortune.

Actually, he is mostly trying to get ahead using get-rich-quick schemes and investing his meager funds into fruitless scams. However, he does have some mining skills and is known to dig on various worlds. After his expeditions led him to Kal'Shebbol, he joined the Farstar crew as a mineralogist.
